The public money loaned to companies should be distributed publicly and democratically. Workers should get their fair share. There should not be poverty and a pandemic. There should not be billionaires and people struggling to buy basic necessities.

Actions that may Promote Fair Distribution of PPP Funds
Omni Hotels & Resorts was accused in December, 2020 of misusing PPP funds. Unite Here, a union of service workers whose members work at Omni, took action by writing the Small Business Administration and urging them to make sure the PPP funds were used appropriately. Considering supporting Unite Here or even join their union.
Ask the owner of the business questions:
Can you provide the records showing how the loan was spent?
What portion of the loan did not go toward wages?
How many workers have been laid off since the loan was received?
Were low-paid workers or high-paid workers most helped by the loans? What is the evidence for those claims?
Was the loan forgiven? Will you seek forgiveness?
How do you financially benefit from the loan?

Join a political movement that fights for economic and social justice
Advocate for a universal basic income, a jobs guarantee, a Green New Deal or other public policies that are likely to end radical economic injustice.
